News 25th February 2025 Building Consultancy

Workman has appointed Amy Farr as Partner, in the newly created role of Head of Building Safety and Construction Compliance, as reported by CoStar News and BE News.

A chartered safety practitioner with experience working on major residential regeneration schemes and commercial developments, Amy will help the firm’s 120-strong building consultancy team achieve compliance on behalf of clients, many of whom have become the Principal Accountable Person (PAP) under the Building Safety Act, legally obliged to ensure that fire and structural safety is properly managed.

Amy’s focus will be in providing technical review and compliance audits for built assets, in support of the PAP requirements and with institutional-level rigour; along with oversight and risk-control reporting where responsible persons are in control of direct health and safety management and implementation.

Amy will also provide further market-leading expertise to dovetail with the firm’s existing services, offering robust advice in relation to the specialist areas of construction design and management, design risk management, and principal designer services, to accord with and meet the requirements laid down by the Building Safety Act.

Edward Moore, Partner, said:

“As an established and respected industry expert, Amy’s leadership in this area will unite and direct the firm’s specialists who are passionate about delivering the progress that the BSA has brought to the commercial real estate sector. Amy’s focus on CDM and building safety strategy will enhance our team’s range and scope of services across both Building Consultancy and Property Management.”

Amy Farr, Partner and Head of Building Safety and Construction Compliance said:

“I’m delighted to be joining Workman at a time when building safety has become such a priority for many investors, especially as they increasingly require a trusted advisor to deliver institutional levels of compliance reporting. I look forward to bringing my skills and expertise to bear on behalf of Workman’s valued clients and teams.”
