Retail & Leisure: a 2025 round-up

16th December 2025
Gareth Soar
Head of Retail & Leisure

What did our Retail & Leisure team achieve during 2025?

There’s real momentum in the retail sector right now, and our retail and leisure business is reflecting that, with a further 3.6million sq. ft of prime retail space under Workman management, bringing our total to 32million sq. ft.

New schemes under management

We welcomed new schemes, including Grand Arcade, Islington Square, Yate Shopping Centre, 17 & Central, and Arc Shopping Centre, for clients such as USS, Cain, NewRiver REIT, Northdale, and CBREIM.

More centre management colleagues welcomed

The new additions saw us welcome more than 50 new centre management colleagues into the firm, to help look after all the new spaces.

Centre management conference at Touchwood

Our new centre management colleagues have joined a team full of pride in their work, and the energy to make sure we consistently deliver great Workmanship. Earlier this year, we all met at Touchwood Solihull for our annual centre managers conference – a chance for us all to learn and share best practice.

Growth for our Property Management team

Meanwhile, our team of Workman Retail & Leisure property managers has grown by 20%, with appointments ranging from early careers to Senior Associate level.

Revo representation renewed

Three of our team were appointed new members of Revo committees – a relationship we’ve held for more than 25 years. Congratulations to Sasha Lees, David McKay, and Philippa Spyvee, who carry the baton of Workman Revo representation into 2026 and beyond.

Six Sceptre Award wins

Everyone’s great Workmanship was recognised when our people won six awards, plus a highly commended, at the Sceptre Awards. These included Retail Destination of the Year for Silverburn in Glasgow, with thanks to our hardworking teams who made this possible.

Four Revo Award wins

It happened all over again when four centres managed by our teams, Silverburn, The Pentagon, Lion Yard, and Crystal Peak, took home awards at the Revos.

Outperforming our competitors

We held our no.2 rankings for both shopping centres and retail warehousing in the latest Trevor Woods reports.

What does all this great Workmanship add up to?

Our Retail & Leisure growth in 2025

A huge thanks to our clients for your trust and partnership, which makes all the difference.

Looking forward to carrying our momentum into 2026.
