Workman opens new Birmingham office at 19 Cornwall Street

18th May 2026

Workman has relocated its Birmingham team to new offices at 19 Cornwall Street – expanding the firm’s Midlands base with a space designed around the needs of a growing team.

The new space, situated in the heart of Birmingham’s Colmore Business District, puts Workman within a 60-second walk of Snow Hill Station and 10 minutes from both Moor Street and New Street. It is a well-connected base for a team that works closely with clients across the region.

The new office provides 40 desks – including eight sit/stand positions – with room to grow further as the team expands.

The fit-out has been led in-house by Partners Paul Stanley and Tom Bates, and has been shaped directly by staff input.

“It was a real opportunity to take a space from scratch and design it around the needs of the business and the rebrand. We wanted somewhere people can collaborate, focus, and feel part of a growing team – a space that genuinely works for the way we work.”

A survey sent to the Birmingham team returned an almost 80% response rate – a signal, if one were needed, of how much this move matters to the people involved. The design reflects what they asked for: large, curved screens, a kitchen and breakout area, two meeting rooms with full AV, focus rooms, a lounge for visitors, and a wellbeing room. Greenery features throughout, alongside an earthy, natural palette and prominent Workman branding.

“This is more than a change of location. It reflects our growth, Workman’s investment in people, and a real commitment to building a modern, collaborative environment.”

The building itself is well-specified. 19 Cornwall Street is net zero carbon in operation, recently refurbished to a high standard, and benefits from 4,000 sq. ft of solar panels, smart building technology, and low service charges as a result. Cycle storage, EV charging, and end-of-trip facilities are all on-site – practical considerations that matter to a lot of the team.

Sustainability has been woven into the fit-out too. Desks and chairs were sourced nearly new to reduce embodied carbon, and the design has kept interventions to the existing base build to a minimum.

The new Birmingham office opened in the first week of March 2026 – a space built with care, designed around people, and ready for what comes next.

A few weeks after settling in, the team got together to properly mark the move – an evening of live music, food and refreshments, a caricaturist, and games. A good way to celebrate a new chapter and enjoy the space they’d helped create.
