For one day last month, our Welcome Offices team volunteered for the homeless in partnership with Refuge Network International, a charity set up to fight against poverty. It supports the homeless by providing meals, supplies, clothing, and advice.
The first half of the event consisted of distributing food, clothes, and toiletries to those in need. The second half of the day was spent on mobile outreach, as the team was tasked with finding those struggling with homelessness on the streets around Central London and offering them pre-packed food.
Noore Boksh, Property Administrator, who helped organise the event and helped on the day, said: “Our Welcome team was proud to give back to the community for this Charity Day Event. Throughout the programme, the team engaged with some of the service users, who shared their stories and expressed how useful the volunteering sessions were to them, and how beneficial it was to their community. We will certainly maintain links with this organisation.”
